Why Families Choose Mendways

A few things that make this space different from other forms of professional support.

Balanced, Not Directive

The facilitator's role is to keep the conversation fair and structured. Nobody leaves feeling like they were talked past or talked over.

A Confidential Setting

What is said within a session stays within the session. Summaries are shared only with participants, and nothing is passed to third parties.

Written Agreements, Not Promises

Every session ends with a written summary of what the family agreed to. It is practical, not aspirational — something to refer back to.

Room for Multiple Voices

Sessions are structured so that quieter family members have as much space to speak as louder ones. The facilitator manages the flow, not the outcome.

Paced for Real Life

Session blocks are spread across weeks or months — enough space between conversations for things to settle and for participants to reflect.

No Legal or Clinical Advice

This is facilitation, not counselling or legal representation. It is a space to talk — clear about what it is and what it is not.

Common Questions

What does a facilitator actually do in a session?

The facilitator opens the session, explains how the time will be used, and then keeps the conversation balanced — making sure each participant has a fair opportunity to speak and that the discussion stays on the agreed topic. The facilitator does not take sides, does not offer diagnoses, and does not advise on legal or financial matters.

How is this different from family therapy or counselling?

Facilitation is focused on supporting a conversation, not on diagnosing or treating a condition. A facilitator manages process — the structure, timing, and fairness of a discussion — while the family manages the substance. It is a practical tool for families who want help having a specific conversation, not ongoing clinical support.

Who is a facilitated session suitable for?

Sessions are suitable for adult family members who share a topic they want to work through together — a household transition, a change in family responsibilities, a long-standing misunderstanding, or any conversation that has been difficult to have at home. Participants are typically two to six adults; the long-form programme accommodates up to eight.

What happens before the first session?

The person requesting facilitation has a short phone intake call with the facilitator. This call covers the topic the family wants to address, the number and relationship of participants, and any practical considerations. It takes around 20 minutes. All sessions are then arranged based on that conversation.

Is what we discuss kept private?

Yes. Session content is not shared with anyone outside the participating family. Written summaries are provided only to participants. No third-party disclosure is made except where required by law.

What are the session fees, and how is payment arranged?

A Single Conversation Facilitation is RM 720. A Three-Session Block is RM 1,940. The Long-Form Programme is RM 3,040. Payment details are confirmed during the intake process. All fees are in Malaysian Ringgit (RM).

Can a session be arranged in Bahasa Malaysia?

Sessions are conducted in English. If you have specific language requirements, please raise them during the intake call and we will do our best to accommodate.
